Notes on entering the Best Airport Green Initiative Award
Sustainability is of growing importance to consumers and to the global travel retail industry. Recognizing this, TRBusiness in partnership with Duty Free Innovation, one of our Platinum Sponsors for the 2020 Travel Retail Awards, has launched the Travel Retail Sustainability Forum (TRSF) and Travel Retail Plastic Pledge. Together with the industry, the TRSF aims to help educate stakeholders on global sustainability issues, the extent to which travel retail is responsible, empower stakeholders to take action through information about alternative more environmentally friendly options, and reduce the global carbon footprint of travel retail and in particular the level of single-use plastics issued by travel retail across the world.
Airports and their commercial partners are already beginning to take steps to adopt a more sustainable approach to business and the creation of the Green Initiative Award aims to celebrate and reward those who are proactively engaging on sustainability.
Airports and their commercial partners (retail and F&B) wishing to enter this award are invited to make their submissions using the form above. These will be shared with the panel of consumers who will review them, scoring the entries on a 10 point scale. Our panel of bloggers and vloggers will also review these entries. The same 70:30 ratio between consumers’ and bloggers’ scores will apply to the Green Initiative award as with the product awards.
Please note that there are no entry fees for this Green Initiative award.
Airports, retailers or F&B concessionaires are invited to complete the form, describing in no more than 300 words why their initiative deserves to win the award. Each entry can include up to three images.
